Color

Although I previously stated that the "it" color for this coming season is black, many designers have added in a splash of color. Here and there you can find some color coming out of the black or complete outfits filled with color. Along with the designers below, Marc Jacobs' new line, along with Oscar de la Renta's, has their fair share of color.

Have you picked up your FIxie?

Fixie street culture has hit Orange Coast College. Due to hard economic times, students have chosen different means of transportation and might as well ride in style.

Fixed “fixie” geared bikes are all the rage. Fixed geared bikes were originally used as racing bikes in a Velodrome. Without having the means to “brake” or “cruise”, skidding is usually the way to stop. This seems to appeal to riders that live for the thrill of possibly getting hurt and living on the edge.

Fixies have become a fashion statement. It’s about going green. Obey has teamed up with Fuji Japanese bikes to create a beautiful piece of useful art that can be flashed around town. This bike is the new “ride”.

The 2008 model has a black matte frame with anodized gold accents. There are only 300 of these bikes that are available, 75 of which are going to Obey retailer stores. These babies are being retailed at $1,200, but trust me, you’ll get your money's worth.

And you’ll save mucho dinero on gas and car insurance. Gas prices won’t stay low for long!!

A beautiful collaboration by Kid Robot and Chad Phillips (artist) bred this one of a kind, custom-made bike. This model comes with its own personal U-lock with matching keys that are guaranteed to protect you from bike thieves.

This one-of-a-kind piece is on display at the Kid Robot store in Miami. The starting price is a whopping $6,000. Work hard kids, make that cash and save up for something that will change your life forever.

NYFW

New York Fashion Week is in progress and full of excitement and changes. A good amount of designers have cut back on their shows and parties and some didn't show up at all. Lines that decided that this fashion week isn't for them this season include Francis by Christian Francis Roth, Benjamin Cho and Gap. But who cares, it's fashion week!

We've almost hit the mid mark of the week and the trend is set. BLACK. Everywhere we turn there is black from almost every designer. Other colors making their mark are the classic crayon green, red, brown of course and grays.
